Position Overview

We are looking for an analytical team player with a unique background in accounting and financial analysis roles within the healthcare industry. You will work on our Practice Consulting team within our Advisory division as an Accountant with our Practice Consulting team.  In this role, you will report to the Managing Director, Practice Consulting and be responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciliations, financial statements, financial reporting packages, and related financial analyses for client practices. Financial analysis engagements support and help manage practice operations. Examples of analysis engagements are revenue cycle reviews, proformas for new service lines, and provider compensation modeling. Engagements can be requested by our clients and will likely include benchmarking based upon similar clients' results and/or national benchmarks. You will be responsible for presenting the analysis to members of the Practice Consulting team and to Clients. In addition, you will be responsible for responding to ad hoc report requests from senior management, clients, and other vendors.

Key Areas 

  • Prepares intermediate to complex schedules, reconciliations, and journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance in loss reserves, income taxes, consolidation eliminations, and cash flow statements.
  • Supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Performs financial analysis, including financial statement fluctuations and budget-to-actual comparisons.
  • Generates timely financial statements for various audiences, including leadership teams, board of directors and committees, banks, and regulators.
  • Collaborates with external auditors, prepares exhibits, and supports financial statements for audits. Creates reporting packages for internal and external audiences, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements for financial filings and tax returns.
  • Documents business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls.
  • Collaborate on special projects, other analyses, and administrative items as needed or assigned.
  • Design and manipulate spreadsheets as required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Must possess well-developed accounting and analysis capabilities and demonstrated computer literacy, including substantial financial modeling skills.
  • Working knowledge of accounting standards
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills using data and information.  
  • Outstanding critical thinking and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and database navigation.  
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and writing skills.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate well with executives, and internal teammates. 
  • Ability to perform under limited supervision while resolving problems of varying complexity.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or other relevant field of study
  • Three to five years of financial and/or managerial accounting or other relevant experience.
  • Experience reviewing the work of others.
  • Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
  • Experience in General Ledger, Patient Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, etc.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Previous experience working in a Healthcare environment strongly preferred.
  • CPA or demonstration of required knowledge skills and abilities preferred. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with moderate supervision.

 

This is a remote, part‑time position averaging 20 hours per week. We offer flexibility in scheduling; however, this role is not eligible for company benefits.

 

The base salary will be commensurate with an individual's work experience and educational background.

US Pay Range
$25$35 USD
