Accounting Manager

Accounting Manager Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. This role requires strong technical accounting skills, leadership ability, and a proactive approach to process improvement. The ideal candidate will have experience in general ledger management, reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll review, and month-end close, preferably within a non-profit or healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and reconciliations. Lead month-end and year-end closing processes. Review and approve accounts payable transactions and ensure timely payments. Oversee payroll review and ensure compliance with internal controls. Prepare and analyze balance sheet reconciliations and variance reports. Monitor fixed assets and capital grant activity. Collaborate with auditors and assist with annual audits. Support system implementations and process improvements. Ensure adherence to GAAP and organizational policies. Complete annual 1099 filings and other regulatory requirements. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum 5 years of GAAP accounting experience. Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, accounts payable, and payroll processes. Advanced Excel and proficiency with accounting systems. Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Experience with system implementations preferred. Non-profit or healthcare accounting experience strongly preferred. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Greenwich, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $105000.00/yr. Salary commensurate with experience.
