Your Mission: The Accounting Supervisor manages the accounting functions of the Finance Department under the direction of the Controller. This position oversees the processing of accounting transactions, preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, and the delivery of management reports and analyses in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. The role provides financial leadership and technical expertise to assigned entities, ensuring the achievement of organizational financial goals and compliance with all applicable standards and regulations. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Oversight & Leadership Supervise accounting staff and ensure timely, accurate completion of financial reporting and audit Coordinate daily and monthly accounting operations, ensuring compliance with established procedures and internal Train accounting staff in financial reporting standards, work paper documentation, and month-end Manage accounting and reporting systems in alignment with organizational policies, internal controls, and Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements for assigned communities and Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and workpapers for designated areas of Initiate and approve fund transfers and other intercompany financial Establish, document, and enhance accounting processes and internal controls to strengthen accuracy and Develop and document process improvements to streamline operations and Financial Reporting & Compliance Lead the preparation of month-end, quarterly, and annual financial statements for Sun Health affiliated Oversee completion of bond reporting and consolidated financial statements, including intercompany eliminations for the Obligated Group and affiliated entities. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and professional reporting Provide financial data and support to external auditors for preparation of federal and state filings (Forms 990/990T, 1120, and related state returns). Manage sales and property tax filings, tax exemption applications, and ensure accurate property classification and valuation with local tax authorities. Oversee financial reporting to federal and state agencies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all compliance Strategic & Operational Support Collaborate with operational leaders to provide financial insight for planning, budgeting, and decision- Develop and monitor key financial performance metrics for operations Prepare financial analyses and trend reports for administrators, senior management, and board Evaluate and implement policies, procedures, and systems to improve financial accuracy and operational Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders and provide exceptional internal customer Perform other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational Your Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility. CPA designation or active pursuit of certification preferred. Experience in senior living and/or multi-family property accounting required. Nonprofit accounting experience preferred. Must possess or be eligible to obtain a Level 1 Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
