Purpose of Position:
This position is part of NSHC’s Alaskan Native/American Indian Leadership Development Program. This position will work directly with and be mentored by an assigned corporate officer. The Corporate Officer will provide guidance, motivation, emotional support, and role modeling. This position will assist corporate officers to promote operational effectiveness and quality of care and assist in the management of fiscal reporting and program activities for assigned departments in accordance with the organization's approved organizational chart.

Essential Functions:
- Mentor with the assigned corporate officer to learn and develop management concepts including planning, financial and personnel.
- Learn and assist in the development of corporate policies, procedures and process of corporate function. Help develop more efficient processing practices.
- Learn to develop strategic plans to achieve outcome objectives, providing direction in guiding the preparation of budgets, budget revisions and related financial matters to achieve division/organizational strategies.
- Facilitate within the organizational structure corresponding staff requirements, administrative procedures and coordination between the hospital, financial and village services.
- Assist the corporate officer with the departmental programs, focusing on project management, to promote productivity, enhance services, an/or increase staff awareness of the need to control costs within programs
- Assist with the implementation of systems and processes, including staffing, to improve the overall functioning of the organization; ensure the organization’s systems, processes and people are integrated to achieve NSHC’s mission in the most efficient and effective way.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

4 years work experience in general
ledger accounting within a healthcare facility

Must have both general and supervisory experience if indicated.

- Work is conducted in a standard office environment
- Minimal travel is required (less than 25% of the time)
- Travel is required via large aircraft
- Travel is required via small (less than 16 passenger) aircraft
