We operate six convenient locations throughout Reno and Sparks, providing comprehensive, top-quality medical services, dental and pediatric care, behavioral health, low-cost pharmacies, nourishing food pantries, and more.
Job Summary: The Controller is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting for all organizational activities. This position applies Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) in the United States to prepare and present financial statements and reports that fairly represent the financial condition and results of Community Health Alliance (CHA) and the Community Health Alliance Foundation.
The Controller oversees monthly and annual financial reporting, internal controls, accounting policies and procedures, grant and fund accounting compliance, and consolidated financial statement preparation. This role also leads and develops the finance and accounting team to meet organizational reporting, audit, and regulatory requirements in an accurate and timely manner.

QualificationsEducation and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Master’s degree in a related field preferred
Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in an accounting leadership role preferred
Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must demonstrate the following:
Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.
Proficiency with automated financial and accounting reporting systems (cloud-based and server-based).
Knowledge of short- and long-term budgeting and forecasting concepts, including rolling budgets, financial proformas, and profitability analysis.
Advanced skill in business computer applications, including databases, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools (e.g., pivot tables).
Ability to communicate financial information clearly and effectively with executive leadership and organizational stakeholders.
Strong understanding of GAAP, healthcare financial regulations, and grant/fund accounting requirements.
Ability to analyze complex financial data and prepare accurate reports, statements, and projections.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
Demonstrated leadership ability, including delegation, team development, and performance management.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.
Strong mathematical accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to solve practical problems and manage ambiguity in evolving or under-documented situations.
