This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Director, Accounting in the United States.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic accounting leader to oversee the accounting function for a mission-driven organization serving individuals with serious mental illness. In this role, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, implement best-in-class accounting processes, and provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational growth. You will lead the month-end and year-end close, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and drive compliance with US GAAP and revenue recognition standards. \n- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate month-end and year-end financial reporting.
- Drive compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate revenue recognition and addressing complex scenarios.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits, providing documentation and addressing audit findings.
- Develop, implement, and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Collaborate with leadership and key stakeholders to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial decisions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability within the accounting function.
- Shape the finance and accounting team by implementing best practices, systems, and processes to support organizational growth.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Proven experience in healthcare accounting, including payer contracts, risk-based arrangements, and reimbursement models.
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, audit processes, and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and develop accounting teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex financial operations and provide strategic guidance to leadership.
- Competitive base salary ($160,000–$170,000) with performance bonus potential.
