Job Description
Your Role:
The Director, Cost Accounting & Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is responsible for leading all cost accounting, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and controlling activities across all legal entities in North America.
This role provides forward-looking financial insights and performance management across the business, including production controlling, commercial (sales & marketing) controlling, service controlling, and G&A controlling. They will lead a team of finance professionals across these domains and is responsible for the execution and quality of all related outputs. The position reports directly to the CFO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and manage a team of finance professionals across cost accounting, FP&A, and controlling functions.
- Lead the North America financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes across all legal entities.
- Oversee production controlling, sales & marketing controlling, service controlling, and G&A controlling.
- Provide financial visibility and forward-looking performance analysis across the North America business.
- Support executive leadership with insights on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
- Partner closely with Finance & Accounting to ensure alignment between actuals, reporting, and planning.
- Drive consistency and alignment of financial planning and cost accounting practices across sites.
- Deliver structured analysis and actionable insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Support budgeting cycles, forecasting updates, and long-range planning processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across operations, supply chain, commercial, and service organizations in North America and globally.
- Assist with audits, financial reviews, and special projects as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field; 10+ years of experience leading and developing finance teams, with significant expertise in cost accounting and FP&A within a multi-entity environment.
- Working knowledge and expertise of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Domestic Travel Requirements – up to 10%
- International Travel Requirements – up to 10%
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
- Strong leadership experience in a dynamic biotech environment
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across functions and globally
- Strong analytical and financial modeling capabilities
- Experience with ERP systems and financial planning tools
- Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Ability to work with large datasets and translate data into insights
Scope of Responsibility:
- North America (multiple legal entities)
- Full P&L visibility across manufacturing, commercial, and service functions
- End-to-end planning cycle (budget, forecast, long-range planning)
- Leadership of cost accounting, FP&A, and controlling teams
- Close collaboration with Finance & Accounting and Tax functions, North American Divisions and Sites, as well as Headquarter teams

The hiring range for this position is expected to fall between $179,959-$211,729/year, reflecting the range candidates can reasonably expect to be considered for at time of offer, based on factors such as experience, internal equity, and qualifications.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of considerations, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialization, skills, abilities, and training. The above range represents the Company’s good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting.
