Purpose of Job:
Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by supervising the identification, implementation, and operations of the organization's fiscal duties as follows:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee all financial functions, help develop and implement NEW Health's strategic plan, craft annual budgets to facilitate plan goals, and assess NEW Health performance against the annual budget and its long-term strategic plan.
Make suggestions for improving process and increasing working efficiency and cost reductions and implement those improvements.
Manage NEW Health's banking relationships, borrowing functions, investing activities, insurance programs, and financial contract negotiations.
Represent NEW Health at its Governing Board Finance Committee meetings.
Collaborate closely with Executive Leadership to monitor changes in the health care landscape to ensure that we maintain a strong and sustainable financial position; help to identify and capture new revenue sources.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, external requirements of funding entities, HRSA, and applicable federal, state, and local laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
Serves as a key point of contact for external auditors; ensures all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly and a system of internal controls are in place to facilitate a clean audit opinion.
Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns, as applicable.
Provide financial reports and modeling, statistical, and scenario analysis to predict future trajectories. Analyze the financial and business impact of strategic, business and investment decisions and ensure effective communications of that analysis to Executive Leadership and the Board.
Leads and oversees the IT Department, Accounting Department, and Billing Department.
Travel may be required.
QualificationsQualifications:
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Minimum two years' experience required; grant compliance, healthcare and/or nonprofit agency background preferred. Certified Public Accountant preferred.
Skills: Strong interpersonal and communications skills required. Previous training and/or experience utilizing accounting software preferred. Computer skills required. Previous experience and demonstrated competency in supervision of staff required.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear and sit. The employee is occasionally required to move around the facility; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs.
