Wage: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour

Alluvion Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Grant & Revenue Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team. This position supports the financial operations of Alluvion Health through grant accounting, revenue recognition, reimbursement requests, accounts receivable management, contract billing, cash receipts, reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit support.

This role works closely with the Controller, Finance team, Program Managers, and Grants Administrator to help ensure accurate accounting, timely revenue collection, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness.

What You’ll Do

The Grant & Revenue Accounting Specialist helps support the accuracy and integrity of Alluvion Health’s financial records. Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitor financial activity for federal, state, local, and private grants and contracts.
  • Maintain grant budgets and monitor expenditures against approved budgets.
  • Prepare grant reimbursement requests, drawdowns, and grant-related billings.
  • Reconcile grant revenues, receivables, deferred revenues, deposits, and assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Support accurate revenue recognition for grants, contracts, and other funding sources.
  • Prepare invoices for contract services and other revenue-generating activities.
  • Maintain billing schedules and accounts receivable aging schedules.
  • Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with collection efforts.
  • Research and resolve billing, reimbursement, and revenue discrepancies.
  • Prepare daily deposits when required.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare monthly grant and revenue analyses.
  • Support budget-to-actual reporting, financial reporting, forecasting, and audit preparation.
  • Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for audits, Medicare Cost Reports, UDS reporting, grant reports, and other required reporting.
  • Support internal controls related to revenue and grant accounting activities.
  • Cross-train within the accounting department and assist with special projects as assigned.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable management and revenue recognition principles.
  • Grant accounting experience in a nonprofit or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including financial analysis, pivot tables, and advanced spreadsheet functions.
  • Experience using accounting and financial management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while meeting deadlines.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of three years of accounting, accounts receivable, grants accounting, healthcare finance, or related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license issued by the State of Montana.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience within a healthcare, nonprofit, FQHC, or federally funded organization.
  • Experience with federal grants, reimbursement-based funding, and revenue-cycle processes.
  • Experience preparing financial reports and supporting audits.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance, 2 CFR 200.
