This role leads financial accounting and reporting activities across designated hospital sites and healthcare entities.
You will oversee the full general ledger close process while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
The position partners closely with hospital executives and operational leaders to translate financial data into actionable insights.
You will contribute to budgeting, variance analysis, balance sheet reviews, and joint venture accounting.
The role also provides an opportunity to drive accounting standardization, process improvements, and close optimization across a complex healthcare environment.
Success requires strong healthcare finance expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to operate independently in a high-visibility setting.
Your work will directly support reliable financial reporting and stronger financial performance across hospital operations.

Accountabilities:
  • Manage the end-to-end general ledger close process for assigned hospital sites and entities, ensuring close activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Lead post-close reviews, balance sheet reviews, and financial analysis to identify issues, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Analyze P&L and balance sheet results and provide clear explanations for monthly, quarterly, and annual variances.
  • Serve as the primary accounting liaison for assigned facilities, partnering with hospital leadership throughout the close and reporting cycle.
  • Collaborate with technical accounting and operational teams to resolve complex accounting treatments and financial issues.
  • Partner with hospital CEOs, COOs, department leaders, and other stakeholders on financial performance, operational reviews, and management reporting.
  • Oversee accounting, reporting, and distributions associated with joint venture arrangements.
  • Support annual budgeting activities and help ensure financial plans are accurate, consistent, and aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Lead or support accounting standardization, process improvement, close optimization, and change management initiatives.
  • Maintain effective internal controls that safeguard assets and support the integrity and reliability of financial systems.
  • Prepare and provide required financial information and reports to external stakeholders when needed.
  • Perform additional finance and accounting responsibilities as assigned while maintaining consistent and reliable attendance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–7+ years of progressive healthcare finance or accounting experience, including recent leadership experience in a hospital-based environment.
  • Strong preference for acute care hospital accounting experience and experience within complex, multi-facility healthcare systems or integrated delivery networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and effectively in a high-visibility environment with limited onboarding and oversight.
  • Proven experience partnering with hospital executives, operational leaders, and department directors to improve financial performance and business processes.
  • Strong expertise in P&L and balance sheet analysis, revenue valuation, month-end close, reconciliations, journal entries, and post-close reporting.
  • Solid understanding of revenue recognition, project and capital accounting, and other core healthcare accounting processes.
  • Experience leading accounting process improvements, standardization initiatives, close optimization, and organizational change.
  • Familiarity with Oracle, EPM, and financial reporting platforms; experience with RCA and revenue accounting is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound financial judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
