Job Title: Operational Finance Manager
Job Description
A global leader in the life sciences industry is seeking an Operational Finance Manager to join its team. This role will oversee all financial forecasting, budgeting, and planning activities within the operations function. The Manager will support the division’s financial reporting processes while driving key finance initiatives at the local level. In addition, this position will conduct economic and operational financial analyses, delivering clear, strategic insights to both local and global leadership teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop and distribute budget guidelines and submission templates for functional leaders.
- Define and communicate timelines for budget submissions and associated presentations.
- Review initial budget inputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with guidelines.
- Prepare and present the annual operational site budget.
- Partner with regional teams to address planning and forecasting challenges.
- Analyze monthly forecast submissions, comparing results to actuals, prior plans, and previous forecasts.
- Deliver consolidated monthly forecast updates to site leadership.
- Prepare and present financial projections as required.
- Support the creation of financial reports to meet internal and external reporting standards.
- Compile monthly reporting packages and provide performance commentary for the site.
- Manage the collection, processing, consolidation, and reporting of financial results.
- Stay informed on updates to accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Develop and monitor the financial components of the site’s strategic plan.
- Communicate monthly financial results to management and recommend improvements when appropriate.
- Prioritize and assign tasks within the finance team to maintain high-quality outputs.
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend cost reduction opportunities for the site.
- Prepare materials for cost committee meetings and coordinate related activities.
- Actively participate in and support financial initiatives led by cost committees.
- Conduct site-level cost variance analyses.
- Track and report progress on savings initiatives.
- Assist management in ensuring accuracy and compliance in routine financial reporting.
- Develop and report key financial metrics to evaluate business performance.
- Oversee the calculation and analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead the development, enhancement, and maintenance of financial reporting systems and processes.
- Execute special financial projects and analyses as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Strong expertise in cost accounting and FP&A.
- Hands-on experience with inventory accounting using the standard cost method.
- Proven ability to communicate financial information effectively across multiple stakeholder groups and organizational levels.
- Excellent communication, planning, change‑management, and results‑driven skills.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Solid understanding of financial modeling techniques, including discounted cash flow (DCF), ROI, payback analysis, and related methodologies.
- Broad knowledge of key accounting areas such as cost accounting, distribution, sales & marketing, and R&D.
- Experience working within a global organization, including familiarity with foreign exchange impacts and inter‑company transactions.
- Proficiency with standard desktop tools (Excel, PowerPoint, databases) and ERP systems, particularly Oracle Cloud.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing needs.
- Strong delegation skills and the ability to distribute assignments effectively.
- Capable of communicating clearly with diverse groups, including Global Finance teams and leadership.
- Proactive in identifying, owning, and resolving significant financial issues.
- Skilled in preparing concise, professional, and impactful presentations for management.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Cost Accounting.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting or standard cost processes.
- 6–8 years of progressive experience in accounting and/or finance.
- CPA, CMA, and/or MBA credentials are highly preferred.
- Proven experience managing, mentoring, and developing a team of accounting or finance professionals is required.
Work Environment
Onsite Monday-Friday in Palm Beach Gardens, FL. The role requires 4 days a week in the office. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
Full Benefits including PTO, Paid Holidays, Bonus based on company performance, 1 work from home day, health insurance, 401k, etc.
