JOB TITLE: Patient Finance Service Rep

REPORTS TO: Manager, Admitting

POSITION SUMMARY: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and non-verbally. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact diplomatically and to maintain a professional demeanor with all customers. Ability to explain personal and financial matters with patients/or representatives. Ability to work with self-pay patients by providing them/representatives with payment options and information about collection procedures. Good problem solving and process efficiency skills. Knowledge of insurance benefits, covered services, billing and collection procedures for all government insurance. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team. General knowledge of office procedures and ability to utilize resource in an organized manner. Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Insurance verification experience preferred. A minimum of one year of hospital admitting experience preferred. A minimum of two years of customer service experience required.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Medical terminology certificate preferred.
