Job Title: Senior Accountant
Location: Louisville, Kentucky – In-office position (not remote)

Compensation: $80,000 – $90,000 DOE

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Louisville, Kentucky. This role plays a critical part in managing accounting functions across multiple legal entities, ensuring accurate reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and complete financial analysis for various entities, including home office, intercompany, and equity transactions. This position oversees general ledger and chart of accounts functions while providing financial reporting and analysis across the organization. The Senior Accountant will also collaborate with leadership, support audits, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities

Maintain chart of accounts and general ledger systems, verifying financial records and preparing financial/statistical reports.

Prepare and input journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation (home office, intercompany, joint ventures, debt, revenue, reserves, and other transactions).

Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts monthly with proper documentation.

Provide accounting oversight for campuses within the Volare portfolio, including financial statement review and audit coordination.

Support updates/maintenance of the chart of accounts and general ledger system.

Generate and distribute monthly financial and statistical reports; participate in periodic financial reviews.

Develop ad-hoc reports and assist management with interpretation and analysis.

Review financial statements for proper accounting treatment of revenue and expenses.

Collaborate with company personnel on accounting-related issues and provide training as needed.

Prepare audit schedules and reports for external auditors.
Qualifications
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5–7 years of financial/accounting experience, preferably in senior living or healthcare.

Advanced software skills with proficiency in spreadsheets and databases.

Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:

CPA designation.
Additional Information

This is an in-office position based in Louisville, KY (not remote).

May occasionally require long days or weekend work due to healthcare facility schedules.

Routine use of office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing systems.

Must be able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 15 pounds.
