Senior Finance Director
The Carmelite System is a multi-state, not-for-profit senior living organization sponsored by the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged & Infirm operating a network of Skilled Nursing Facilities and Assisted Living/Independent Living communities.
We are seeking to hire a Senior Finance Director.
- This corporate level position is fully remote. Current Team members work in Eastern and Central Standard Time.
- $165K to $195K annually based on skills and experience.
Senior Finance Director Qualifications:
- CPA preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration, preferred.
- 8–10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience in senior living, post-acute, or healthcare environments required.
- Deep understanding of healthcare reimbursement, including Medicare, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage.
- Proven experience supporting multi-site healthcare operations.
- Strong financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Excel.
Senior Finance Director Job Summary:
- Prepare, analyze, and present comprehensive financial reports, dashboards, and strategic insights for Board Meetings and executive leadership.
- Lead monthly facility Financial Departmental Meetings.
- Conduct monthly facility Financial Variance Analyses during end-of-month close.
- Oversee monthly facility Accounts Payable accruals and approvals.
- Lead annual Budget Development in collaboration with regional and facility leadership.
- Optimize reimbursement across MA (Medicare Advantage), MC (Medicare), and MCD (Medicaid).
- Analyze payer mix, rate changes, and regulatory impacts on facility financial performance.
- Perform facility labor analyses, including staffing ratios, agency usage, and overtime.
- Lead and support special projects such as grant applications, service line expansions, acquisitions, or operational turnarounds.
- Lead regional finance staff and support the accomplishment of financial and project objectives.
