Job Description
The Biopharma Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team is responsible for driving the consolidation and review of the financial performance of the groups that comprise Biopharma. The group delivers financial support and analysis to the Commercial Presidents and VPs of Finance, providing strategic, insightful, timely, and accurate analyses to support the Biopharma business. This role is the ‘right hand’ to the VP of Finance for Emerging markets and will be in frequent meetings with the President of Emerging Markets and the EM leadership team, oftentimes presenting to those groups.
This Senior Manager position reports to the Biopharma FP&A Lead, will have FP&A responsibilities for the Emerging Markets region and will be a member of the EM Finance Leadership Team.
This role will have both lead and support responsibilities across FP&A mainly related to monthly and quarterly financial reviews and reporting, forecast and planning cycles (including Operating Plan) and Finance Committees. This role will work directly with the EM Finance lead, EM President, EM Regional leads as well as the EM Finance team.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with regional finance leads and commercial colleagues to understand the monthly performance drivers and prepare revenue and P&L commentary and analysis for review and presentation to Commercial leadership as well as submission to Biopharma Global. This includes, but is not limited to, Flash Revenues, P&Ls, Quarterly ELT reviews, Finance Committee reviews, Business Reviews, and Quarterly Earnings.
- Drive and lead the consolidation and presentation/review of forward-looking components of the FP&A process including forecasting (Latest Estimates and Exception Based forecasts), budgeting (including budget phasing) and long-range planning (Operating Plan) for assigned business units. This includes assessing Risks & Opportunities, VEP (Volume/Price) analysis, Need-To-Meet and Run Rate analyses, as well as other supplemental requirements.
- Lead financial analysis and collaborate with cross functional teams to develop recommendations to increase profitability and optimize capital allocation across products and markets, as well as prepare or review business cases to support investments
- Serve as a strategic thought partner for regional finance leads and regional commercial leadership, providing insightful guidance and proactive solutions.
- Act as a single point of contact for regional Finance Leads and regional commercial Leadership, providing finance support for areas outside management reporting and forecasting/planning such as restructuring, cost center management, balance sheet reviews, and metadata/hierarchy management in Global Mosaic and other key financial systems.
- Lead simplification/automation initiatives and driving other financial process improvements to support the changing needs of the business unit teams, as well as the greater Biopharma and Finance organizations.
- Active participation and support of Global Biopharma FP&A activities as needed such as consolidation of actual results, forecasts and operating plans for the Global Biopharma organization
- Drive AI & digital innovation to improve processes and efficiencies across the organization.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
- 6+ years of finance experience required or 5 years with MBA
- Must have very strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills (oral, written & presentations) demonstrating the ability to effectively summarize critical information into clear, concise, and insightful updates for senior leadership
- Strong financial modeling and critical thinking skills, and proactive thought leadership
- Ability to manage and prioritize competing business needs and high priority deliverables
- Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree or CPA preferred
- Industry knowledge preferred
- Line experience/influence preferred, as well as the ability to interpret and link financial results to business actions
- FP&A experience at a market level a plus
- Strong experience with Pfizer’s financial systems (e.g. Oracle Essbase/Global Mosaic, SAP, etc.)
