The Role
The Senior Staff Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of evolvedMD’s financial reporting. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, complex journal entries, payroll processing, and balance sheet management. The ideal candidate will have a background with audited corporate financials in PE backed organizations and experience supporting board-level financial reports, bringing both technical expertise and strategic insight to the accounting function.

This position is based out of evolvedMD’s corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Compensation
Salary Range: $90,000 - $100,000 plus yearly bonus
$1,200 annual technology allowance
401(k) company match up to 3%

Your Experience, Background, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger management, payroll processing, and financial statement preparation.
Experience in audited corporate environments required.
Strong working knowledge of GAAP, financial consolidations, and internal control frameworks.
Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, BC365, Intacct, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional and management-level interactions.
Your Responsibilities
General Accounting + Financial Reporting
Prepare, review, and post complex journal entries including accruals, deferrals, intercompany transactions, and multi-entity consolidations.
Perform comprehensive balance sheet account reconciliations with a focus on accuracy, completeness, and documentation.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies across all financial processes.
Support the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
Assist with preparation and review of financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
Payroll Accounting + Processing
Manage and process multi-state payroll cycles in coordination with HR and third-party providers.
Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts, ensuring proper allocation of taxes, benefits, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Support year-end payroll processes including W-2 and 1099 preparation and review.
Audit + Compliance
Serve as a key liaison during financial audits, providing schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation to external auditors.
Maintain audit-ready records and ensure continuous improvement in internal controls and documentation practices.
Support SOX or internal audit testing as applicable.
Board + Executive Reporting
Help prepare and analyze financial reports, variance analyses, and key performance metrics for executive and board review.
Collaborate with senior leadership to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.
Assist in the preparation of materials for board meetings and presentations.
