Job Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join our finance team. This role will be pivotal in driving strategic financial planning, analysis, and reporting and drive transition of planning processes from Excel into an advanced planning environment leveraging FP&A planning systems. The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills, including proficiency in DataRails and other planning tools, have a strong background in financial analysis and a strong affinity for leveraging technology to drive efficiencies.
Job Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Participate in the financial planning processes of both the G&A and Medical Functions, develop and maintain detailed financial forecasts and annual budget, and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, author of variance commentaries, and trend analysis / risks & opportunity assessments.
- Ensure PO alignment with budget and forecast.
- Support Accounting during close and accrual processes.
- Prepare presentations highlighting underlying drivers of performance.
Management Reporting:
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports, dashboards, and presentations to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Utilize advanced planning/visualization tools (DataRails, Excel, and PowerPoint) to create dynamic, real-time reporting tools to enhance visibility and insight into financial performance.
Technical Skills and Data Management:
- Leverage advanced technical skills to manage and analyze large datasets.
- Experience with financial planning tools (DataRails or Hyperion) preferred.
- ERP experience with MS Dynamics, Business Central (BC) preferred.
- Advanced Excel (modelling, pivot tables, and macros).
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data through rigorous data validation and reconciliation processes.
Operational Improvements / Business Partnering:
- Business Partnering: Develop effective working relationships with business partners. Develop strong business knowledge of the Functions to help find synergies & efficiencies across the organization.
- Provide support to business stakeholders and collaborate with Statutory Accounting team to ensure consistency between budget/forecast and actuals (raising issues or insights around material accruals and proper allocation of expenses to departments, products/projects, etc.)
- Change Management & Special Projects: Responsible for developing & improving processes to enhance efficiencies, as well as offering novel solutions & perspectives aligned with company goals.
- Accountable for any ad hoc special projects as they arise.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and analysis activities.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices, integrating new tools and techniques to optimize financial operations with specific focus on use of advanced technologies (AI, Robotic Process Automation - RPA).
Requirements for Position:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting; MBA or relevant certification preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
- Advanced proficiency in financial planning tools (e.g., Hyperion, DataRails, etc.); MS Office proficiency
- Expert Excel and strong PowerPoint skills. **Excel assessment test will be administered as part of the interview process**
- Experience with Power Query or other automation/macro tools strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with a proven ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills.
- Keen interest in and/or experience in leveraging advanced technology applications to drive process improvements and create efficiencies (e.g. RPA, AI/Chat GPT).

Additional information:
- Requires budgetary responsibilities and discretion with confidential data
- Hybrid work schedule consisting of remote work and three (3) days per week in the Morristown, NJ Office
- Travelling – minimal - approximately 5% of the time
