The Vice President of Finance provides enterprise leadership for financial reporting, treasury and asset oversight, management reporting, business analytics, financial systems, grants and contributions accounting, and the organization’s financial control environment. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role ensures timely, accurate, decision support and scalable controls that support organizational strategy, compliance, stewardship, and sustainable growth.

Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Lead enterprise financial reporting, analysis, treasury and asset oversight, internal controls, and related finance governance in alignment with the organization’s priorities.
- Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting processes, including consolidated financial statements, management reporting, dashboards, forecasts, and board level materials.
- Ensure financial statements and supporting schedules are accurate, timely, complete, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles, grant requirements, debt covenants, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Establish and maintain a strong internal control framework, including documented policies, reconciliations, approval authorities, segregation of duties, account reviews, and remediation of identified deficiencies.
- Lead financial planning and analysis activities, including budgets, forecasts, scenario modeling, trend analysis, liquidity analysis, operating margin monitoring, and decision support for executive leadership.
- Oversee treasury and asset management activities, including cash forecasting, banking relationships, investments, debt compliance, liquidity, and safeguarding of organizational resources.
- Translate complex financial and operational data into concise insights, recommendations, and presentation materials for executives, committees, the board, funders, auditors, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain management reporting standards, key performance indicators, data definitions, and analytical tools that promote consistent, actionable information across programs and regions.
- Serve as a primary finance liaison for external auditors and support annual audits, regulatory filings, accreditation activities, and responses to monitoring or examination findings.
- Build, develop, and plan staffing resources.
- Set clear expectations, coach and develop leaders and staff, strengthen succession readiness, and maintain service continuity during periods of growth or change.
- Partner with program leadership to resolve cross-functional financial issues and improve organizational performance.
- Promote a culture of accountability, quality, responsive service, ethical conduct, confidentiality, and continuous improvement.
- Participates in and supports in-person collaboration opportunities, including departmental and organization wide trainings, summits, seminars, meetings, and other professional development or team-building events, as required.
- Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, company policy, and regulatory agency standards.
- May be required to drive vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete company vehicle training.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required; master’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field preferred. CPA or other relevant professional certifications strongly preferred. A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible accounting and finance experience, including at least 5 years leading financial reporting, analysis, controls, or comparable teams, is required. Experience in a complex nonprofit, healthcare, human services, government contracting, or multi-entity environment is preferred.
