Description
The Eastern Kentucky Veterans Center (EKVC) is a 120-bed long-term care facility providing skilled nursing and
rehabilitative care exclusively to Kentucky’s Veterans. Proudly operated by the Kentucky Department of
Veterans Affairs, EKVC was built to honor and care for those who have served our nation.
We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk II to join our administrative team. This position supports the financial operations of the facility and plays an important role in serving Kentucky’s Veterans.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
We are currently seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk II to join our administrative team. This position supports the financial operations of the facility and plays an important role in serving Kentucky’s Veterans.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable in eMARS.
- Review invoices and financial documents for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Collect and process payments for resident billing, meal tickets, and gift shop receivables.
- Administer resident accounts, including resident checking and safe accounts.
- Serve as facility ProCard Administrator and Wireless Coordinator.
- Process travel reimbursements and banking transactions.
- Reconcile facility and resident accounts.
- Prepare financial reports and assist facility leadership as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented.
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
High school graduate.
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
Additional education in accounting, business administration, business education, office administration, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis OR Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) Certification in Accounting will substitute for two years of the required experience OR KCTCS Certification as an Accounting Recordkeeping Specialist will substitute for the required experience.
Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Additional accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Probationary Period
This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
