We're looking for someone to join our team as an Assistant Controller who:
Under direction of the Controller, the Assistant Controller will perform routine accounting functions; supervise the maintenance of accounts and financial records for departmental accounting systems; promote and improve accounting controls for record protection; provide proper audit trails; understand and assist in the accounting system revision when indicated; prepare reports; and to perform other related work as required. Assistant Controller assumes duties of Controller in their absence.
Essential Functions:
- Assists in the review, analysis and verification of the fiscal records.
- Responsible for reviewing and approving general ledger entries and supporting documentation.
- Sets up G/L accounts in the financial software, as needed.
- Prepares periodic financial statements and reports.
- Reviews all contracts and coordinates the generation of YTD contract spreadsheets to Program Directors on a monthly basis.
- Reviews and approved final payroll summary report.
- Participates in and coordinates corporate and program audits.
- Perform other departmental duties as required.
- Perform introductory and annual employee reviews, competency forms, and provide constructive feedback on their performance to help meet organizational and professional goals.
Other Responsibilities:
- On a scheduled basis may be required to work at any Satellite Facility.
- Reasonable and predictable in person attendance.
- Ability to work a varied schedule that may include Saturday.
You'll be successful with the following qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- College degree with a major in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field providing substantial work in Accounting or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Knowledge of governmental reporting requirements.
- Ability to establish and maintain fiscal records and procedures.
- Ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports.
- Ability to coordinate and maintain effective working relationships.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Programs, advanced Excel proficiency.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
