Summary
The Director, Portfolio & Pipeline Optimization leads strategic efforts to maximize the value, efficiency, and financial performance of a diverse pharmaceutical portfolio with revenues in excess of $4B with over 300 products that are critical to the patients we serve. This role drives cross-functional collaboration, rigorous financial and commercial analysis, and dynamic prioritization to support business growth and operational excellence across global business units. Additionally, the incumbent will serve as the global financial planning and analytical excellence lead overseeing forecasting, budgeting and reporting and providing actionable insights to drive financial optimization.
Key Responsibilities
- Portfolio and Network Optimization: Partner with commercial and manufacturing leadership to develop compelling recommendations for senior management and execute to deliver financial results. Lead optimization initiatives, scenario development, and implementation of supply & market allocation decisions to achieve margin and growth targets.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate and lead cross-functional teams, partnering with commercial and manufacturing operations to develop and pressure-test business cases. Build strong relationships with global, regional, and local stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
- Financial Planning & Analytical Excellence: Drive robust end-to-end forecasting, budgeting, and reporting providing insightful analyses and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Business Process Optimization: Lead simplification and automation initiatives, improve financial and operational processes, and support the development and implementation of innovative solutions to address supply, demand, and margin optimization challenges.
- Strategic Assessment & Decision Support: Conduct ad hoc strategic and commercial analyses, adapt to changing priorities, and provide actionable insights for dynamic portfolio prioritization and resource allocation.
- Team Leadership & Development: Manage and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, including business, finance, engineering, or related field.
- 10 years of experience in portfolio management, financial planning & analysis, manufacturing and commercial operations, and cross-functional leadership.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to influence, negotiate, and lead in a matrix environment.
