Position Purpose:  The selected individual leads our annual planning, budgeting and capital processes, as well as builds and maintains the 12-month forecasting model. They provide timely and accurate business analytical services to improve decision making and deliver innovative solutions to produce measurable process improvements. Reports directly to the VP of Finance and the CFO. Responsible for conceptualizing a financial model of a business and for identifying opportunities for bottom line business improvement and translating them into practical recommendations that can be acted upon. Works in a synergistic and productive partnership across finance and with the organization's executive business leaders and their management teams.

Qualifications/Basic Job Requirement:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration and an MBA and/or CPA.
  • Seven or more years of related FP & A experience working in the healthcare industry strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of traditional FP&A processes (budgeting/forecasting, monthly reporting, variance analysis, financial metrics, pro formas, etc.
  • Experience developing cash flow models
  • Proficiency with Excel required
  • Knowledge of Oracle NetSuite preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong ability to analyze, understand, critical think and communicate complex issues and trends.
  • Demonstrated innovative approaches to streamline and automate financial system flows from data source to reporting outputs.
  • Comfortable leading month end/year-end financial close.
  • Self-driven with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Catalyst for change in an ever-changing, fast paced industry

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and communication of key financial indicators and business drives, leading and lagging.
  2. Financial lead for the annual operating budget/capital budgets, forecasts and long-range planning.
  3. Drives the ongoing capital processes to prioritize and advance capital decision making in an industry with limited capital resources.
  4. Builds and leads the ongoing cost accounting and profitability reporting for the organization in a timely and accurate manner for critically needed business information.
  5. Partners with leadership to reduce the cost of delivering services to our clients without compromising quality.
  6. Partners closely across other system support areas such as Human Resources, IT, and other Shared Service and Corporate functions.
  7. Establishes systems and processes that drive accountability for customer care, financial and/or operational outcomes.
  8. Works effectively with cross company partners to execute divisional and departmental initiatives and day to-day operations.
  9. Establishes metrics that measure key business outcomes.
  10. Translates organization vision and strategies to department level and mobilizes allocated resources to achieve profitable growth.
  11. Effectively anticipates obstacles and barriers and works creatively to overcome them.

Physical Requirements/Percentage of Work Time:

  1. Vision:  Must be able to read printed and/or handwritten materials from a variety of sources (75-100%)
  2. Hearing:  Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with coworkers (50-79%); answer incoming phone calls (0-24%)
  3. Standing/Walking/Mobility:  Must have mobility between departments within the facility (50-79%),
  4. Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling:  (0-24%)
  5. Lifting/Pulling/Pushing:  Must exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently to lift or move objects (25-49%)
  6. Fingering/Grasping/Feeling:  Must be able to finger keyboard for computer work and phone equipment for placing/receiving calls (75-100%)
  7. Sitting:  must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time when using the computer (75-100%)

Environment:

Exposure to bloodborne pathogens requiring the use of universal precautions and/or personal protective equipment.

Exposure to computers.

 

Work Location: Des Plaines, IL 

Compensation & Rewards (pay is based on education, experience, and credentials) 

  • Starting Pay: $145,000
