The Patient Accounts Representative II – Customer Service is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, insurance companies, physician offices, and internal departments regarding hospital billing and patient accounts. This position responds to incoming telephone calls, manages assigned work queues, resolves billing inquiries, processes account updates, and ensures timely and accurate account resolution while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. The Patient Accounts Representative utilizes the Epic system to research account information, document interactions, process account updates, resolve billing discrepancies, manage assigned work queues, and support efficient revenue cycle operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of healthcare experience.
- Epic experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Answers high volumes of incoming customer service calls in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.
- Provides accurate information and assistance to patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and internal departments.
- Explain patient account details, billing information, payment responsibilities, insurance processing, and account status to patients, Medicare, HMOs, insurance companies, and other third-party payers.
- Maintains general knowledge of managed care contracts to provide accurate assistance to patients, guarantors, and insurance representatives.
- Utilizes Epic system to research, review, update, and resolve patient accounts.
- Works assigned work queues in Epic to ensure timely completion of account follow-up activities.
- Updates patient accounts with accurate comments, follow-up notes, reminders, and resolution documentation.
- Reviews and resolves daily reminders, prioritizing patient and manager-related reminders to move accounts toward completion.
- Any other duties as assigned by Woman's Hospital.

7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay Range:
Hourly/Non-Exempt
$16.00 – $23.00
