Position Overview:
The Plant Controller is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of plant‑level and U.S. financial reporting while providing financial leadership and decision support to manufacturing and operations leaders. This role partners closely with operations to drive cost control, manufacturing efficiency, and financial performance in a regulated medical device environment.
What you will do:
- Complete and manage all aspects of the plant month‑end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and operational variance analysis.
- Support plant and operations leaders by analyzing manufacturing performance, standard costs, material usage, labor, and overhead.
- Manage plant‑level Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable processes and support achievement of plan DSO and A/P days targets.
- Prepare plant cash forecasts and support cash flow planning related to operational activities.
- Review and approve A/P invoices, weekly disbursements, and payroll submissions related to plant operations.
- Assist in the resolution of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, payroll, and inventory‑related discrepancies.
- Prepare SG&A and manufacturing budgets for assigned cost centers and support operational forecast updates.
- Serve as the primary plant finance contact for annual external audits and operations‑related financial reviews.
- Manage annual 401(k) audit activities, prepare annual match true‑ups, and ensure timely funding.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support capital spending, productivity initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Complete special projects and ad hoc financial analyses in support of operations finance objectives.
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive accounting or finance experience supporting operations or manufacturing.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret manufacturing and cost data.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate financial results into operational insights.
- Strong business and operational acumen in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
