Summary:

The Technical Finance Operations Specialist position will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our technical systems and providing support for various applications. This position will also provide actionable insights through the extraction of various reports and queries related to claims funding and administration of stop loss policies.   They should excel in troubleshooting, report generation, and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support client inquiries and reporting needs, providing insights tailored to their business objectives
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to stop loss administration and claims funding
  • Monitor operational metrics to detect potential issues early for escalation to leadership
  • Generate reports and visualizations to support decision making processes for stop-loss and funding
  • Accurately input and update data in databases and data management systems
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records, ensuring alignment with operational needs and client requirements
  • Create and maintain documentation for data processes, methodologies, and analysis results
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to facilitate data integration across platforms and systems
  • Ensure proper data mapping and transformation during integration processes
  • Analyze and cleanse data received within paid claims, RX transactions, and invoice fee reports to transform into a defined standard file layout to ensure accurate data is transferred to vendor
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that track various year end data and activities related to stop loss contracts and renewals
  • Recommend improvements to data management processes and tools
  • Assist with implementing preventive measures to minimize escalations and disruptions
  • Provide technical assistance to users regarding data management tools and software
  • Troubleshoot data-related issues and coordinate with IT for resolution
  • Create user guides and training materials for departmental systems and procedures
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support stop-loss and claims funding data related projects and initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Proficiency in reporting tools (e.g. SQL, Excel, PowerBI)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask
  • Operate with a sense of urgency and responsiveness
  • Ability to work within specified timeframe and meet deadlines  
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Preferred Experience Requirements:

  • Experience with self-funded health plans and third-party administration processes
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)

Computer Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint
