Accounting Leader (Full-Time)
Job Description
Proposed Schedule: 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.
Position Summary
The Accounting Leader shall have responsibility for managing the general ledger for Hudson Headwaters Health Network and affiliates and shall work with the accounting team to provide accurate and timely financial information. The Leader’s responsibility includes oversight of the general ledger related to the requirements for Medicare Cost Reports, Medicaid Cost Reports and the annual audit.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for management of HHHN general ledger, including maintaining chart of accounts.
- Directs the monthly general ledger close.
- Responsible for ensuring supporting schedules are reconciled to the general ledger including assets, liabilities, revenue and expenses that need to be maintained for the annual audit.
- Reconciles accruals & inventories on a monthly basis.
- Reconciles restricted net assets on a monthly basis in connection with the Network Development team. Attend quarterly meetings with leadership.
- Responsible for reconciliation of Federal and State grants as deemed appropriate.
- Preparation of annual Medicare cost report and Medicaid cost report.
- Preparation of monthly internal financial statements and board meeting documents.
- Participates in the annual audit.
- Responsible for preparation of annual tax returns for all entities.
- Assists in preparation of annual budget.
- Calculation of annual merit raises for all employees as approved by the Board.
- Calculation of annual health center incentives in connection with the operations team.
- Preparation & distribution of monthly location reports.
- Provide oversight & monthly review for non-patient receivables.
- Responsible for monthly review of reconciliations prepared by Senior, Senior Staff & Staff Accountants.
- Directs finance team members with general ledger coding.
- Responsible for various month-end reconciliations & tasks for Hudson Headwaters related entities.
- Responsible for working with Senior, Senior Staff & Staff Accountant to cross train to cover responsibilities.
- Serve on HHHN committees that support the Mission, Vision and Core Values; participate with enthusiasm and engagement.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and ability to perform the essential functions:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 5 - 6 years Healthcare related general ledger experience strongly preferred
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and financial platforms
- Must have good organizational skills and ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must be able to communicate effectively
- Ability to prioritize and cope with the stress from deadlines in a positive manner, puts emphasis on financial confidentiality
- Exceptional analytical skills
The pay range for this position is $79,000 - $81,000 per year. Pay rate will be determined based on skills and experience.
