Currently, one of our client’s based in the Greater Boston, MA area is seeking to hire a Senior Manager Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Operations. This is a full-time direct hire role. Candidates from the Greater Boston, MA area are preferred.
Title: Senior Manager Cost Accounting and Manufacturing Operations
Role: The Senior Manager of Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance oversees costing, inventory accounting, and financial reporting for Technical Operations. This role leads product costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing finance to support business planning and operations. You will partner with FP&A and Technical Operations to deliver financial insights, support budgeting and forecasting, and improve decision-making.
You’ll also manage a cost accounting team, oversee financial processes and controls, and ensure accurate reporting for both commercial and clinical programs. This is a hands-on position, understanding how all processes work.
Responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Partner with Manufacturing, QA, QC, and Process Development teams on financial planning and analysis
- Lead and develop the inventory and manufacturing finance team
- Work within our existing Oracle ERP system and the Oracle Process Manufacturing module, lead efforts to recommend and implement any expansions of the system.
- Manage product costing, including standard costs and variance analysis
- Oversee monthly close for inventory, manufacturing, and clinical programs (U.S. GAAP)
- Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions and reporting in Oracle ERP
- Develop, implement and maintain a standard cost accounting process.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
- Maintain inventory controls, cycle counts, and internal controls
- Deliver financial reporting and analytics for leadership and decision-making
- Support audits and SEC reporting requirements
- Identify and implement process and system improvements
Experience/Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7–9 years of experience in manufacturing finance, inventory, or cost accounting roles
- Strong experience with Oracle (OPM preferred)
- Solid understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, and cost accounting
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals preferred
- Strong analytical skills, including advanced Excel
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and with external partners
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members
- Understanding of SOX controls and internal control processes including design and implementation and ongoing evaluation of controls.
Work Location:
This is a hybrid role. You will work on-site at a U.S. facility and occasionally attend in-person company events.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $136,000–$170,000 annually, based on experience, skills, and market factors.
