COMPANY
Thea Pharma Inc. is the newly established US commercial organization of French-based pharmaceutical company, Laboratoires Théa (Clermont-Ferrand). Thea Pharma markets a suite of leading eye-care drugs that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), including iYUZEH, Zioptan®, Cosopt®, Cosopt® PF, Azasite®, Akten®, and Betimol®, as well as AcellFX™ Acellular Amniotic Membrane and the portfolio of iVIZIA dry-eye drops and eyelid hygiene products. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting, Reporting and Close Support:

  • Manage the monitoring booking and of Balance Sheet accruals to maintain financial accuracy. 
  • Accounting and recordkeeping aspects to be managed include payroll, inventory, accrual and pre-paid including working closely with external parties
  • Play a key role in the monthly close and complete all journal entries and Balance Sheet reconciliation. Own accounts analysis and journal entries. Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
  • Support variance analysis and provide explanations for material swings.
  • Partner with FP&A to provide inputs and assumptions used in annual budget, forecasts, and long-term plan. 
  • CMO Stock Procurement, Inventory, COGS, Samples and Destructions - Assume full responsibility for the lifecycle of Stock Management and spearhead the project to automate the current Headquarters' procurement, tracking, and accounting processes into the local NetSuite ERP system.
  • Review and validate inventory valuations, including standard cost updates, overhead allocations, and work closely with Supply Chain to maintain schedules for inventory obsolescence and slow moving inventory to support reserve requirements.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts and cycle count audits.

 

Accounting, Compliance, and Audit Support:

  • Maintain SOX controls and ensure compliance with international statutory reporting requirements. 
  • Manage subsidiary financial reporting and reconciliation processes. 
  • Assist with financial audits, coordinate with external auditors, and providing necessary documentation and analysis.
  • Help strengthen and uphold internal controls for financial operations. 
  • Support financial system transformations and UAT testing. 

 

Financial Analysis, Forecasting, and Reporting: 

  • Leverage Oracle NetSuite/ERP for financial system integrity and refine forecasting modules in Excel for installation into NetSuite Planning and Budgeting. 
  • Analyze financial data for accurate forecasting and strategic planning. 
  • Prepare detailed financial reports and conduct budget to actual analysis for spending control. 

 

Functional Leadership and Collaboration: 

  • Initiate and support optimal financial processes and support company objectives. 
  • Collaborate across multiple teams for successful implementation of financial projects and initiatives. 
  • Serve as a liaison with headquarters, ensuring alignment of financial strategies. 
  • Manage ad hoc projects and analyses as needed. 

 

Data Analysis

  • Integrate and ensure data integrity of third-party feeds into business warehousing platforms.
  • Help evolve advanced data models for revenue tracking and reporting. 
  • Conduct data quality audits and reconcile data discrepancies to ensure data integrity.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues from other countries.
  • Positive work ethic, excellent communication and organizational skills, high attention to detail, and unquestionable integrity and personal ethics. 
  • Firm understanding of SOX compliance and extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP with the ability and ingenuity to adapt financials to view in French GAAP. 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Master of Science in Accountancy, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • 10 years of relevant experience
  • Regulatory, Compliance, and Audited ERP, data visualization system experience 
  • Life sciences industry experience, plus

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity enough to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriately. Additional physical and mental requirements include: 
    • Can hear accurately the spoken word with moderate office noise or plant noise 
    • Can apply deductive reasoning and understand complicated issues 
    • Can receive instructions and follow work rules and company policies 
    • Can follow safety and security practices

For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $115k to $150k. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors.
