Clifford Beers is a mental health clinic serving children and families. Our mission is to provide integrated services addressing mental, physical, and social determinants in order to improve health, resiliency and quality of life for children, families and communities.
PURPOSE:
The Senior Vice President of Finance provides strategic and operational leadership for the financial management of Clifford Beers Community Care Center. This role ensures that financial systems, reporting, and planning effectively support the organization’s mission and day-to-day service delivery. Working closely with the Executive Director and in strong partnership with the Senior Vice President of Operations, the SVP of Finance helps align financial management with program operations, organizational priorities, and responsible stewardship of public and philanthropic resources. The SVP of Finance leads the finance team and supports the development of financial practices that promote transparency, accountability, and collaboration across departments. This role emphasizes integration with operational leadership and program teams to ensure that financial information is accessible and useful in guiding decisions that impact the children, families, and communities we serve.
The Senior Vice President of Finance is expected to lead in a manner consistent with the organization’s commitment to trauma-informed and anti-racist practices while fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility.
The SVP role is a Senior Position that offers flexibility in scheduling in person versus remote work with a minimum of three days a week in the office after probationary period.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategic Financial Leadership
Provides financial leadership and direction to the Executive Director, Board, Leadership Team, and operations and administrative staff
Develops annual and multi-year budgets that reflect organizational values and incorporate strategic priorities
Monitor financial performance and provide clear financial analysis and forecasting to leadership and the Board of Directors
Lead financial planning and scenario modeling to support organizational sustainability and strategic growth
Operational Integration
Partner closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations to ensure alignment between financial management and operational performance
Support program leaders in understanding financial performance and the financial implications of program operations
Develop financial dashboards and tools that support informed decision-making across departments, including grant budgets and reports
Collaborate with leadership on financial strategy related to program expansion, grant opportunities, and service delivery models
Financial Management and Compliance
Oversee all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting
Responsible for timely and accurate monthly close process, audit preparation and accurate revenue recognition throughout the year
Oversee financial management of government grants, contracts, and restricted funding sources
Maintain strong internal financial controls and financial policies
Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and private funding requirements
Team Leadership and Culture
Lead and develop the finance team in a manner that reflects CBCCC’s commitment to trauma-informed and anti-racist leadership
Foster collaboration between finance and other departments to ensure financial information is accessible and useful across the organization
Support staff development and continuous learning within the finance department
Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, and partnership
Board and Leadership Partnership
Serve as a key advisor to the Executive Director and leadership team on financial strategy and risk management
Partner with the Board Finance Committee to ensure strong financial governance
Present financial information to the Board of Directors in a clear and accessible manner.

QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required
CPA, MBA, or equivalent advanced financial training preferred
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience
Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, behavioral health, or human services organizations strongly preferred
Demonstrated experience managing government grants, Medicaid-funded programs, and complex funding structures
Experience leading finance teams and implementing financial systems that support organizational growth
Experience with finance and accounting software, ideally Financial Edge
SKILLS:
Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management and accounting principles
Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and financial analysis
Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for non-financial leaders
Strong leadership and team development skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to collaborate across departments and build strong working relationships
Style that is organized and results oriented
